This year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it may be more important than ever to get the influenza vaccine. That’s because flu season combined with the COVID-19 pandemic could lead to more deaths and serious health issues for individuals and families across the country.
The flu vaccine will not protect you against COVID-19, but it will reduce your risk of getting the flu, being hospitalized and possibly dying from it – or potentially spreading it to others. It will also reduce the burden on hospitals and conserve resources needed to care for people with COVID-19.

- The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older get a flu shot by the end of October.
- The vaccine will help prevent you from getting the flu and lessen your symptoms if you do get it.
- People at high risk for serious complications from flu are:
- Young children.
- Pregnant women.
- People 65 years and older.
- People who suffer from asthma, diabetes and heart or lung disease.

亚搏app官方网站 Medical Group at Cottage Grove Community Medical Center will hold two drive-through flu shot clinics at 1515 Village Drive:
- Wednesday, October 7: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 28: 1 to 4 p.m.
The drive-through flu shot clinics are open to anyone 12 years of age and older. No appointment necessary.
A pediatric flu clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
